In this year’s Rundgang exhibition, Klasse Ter Heijne gathers a chorus of singular voices, presenting works that traverse personal mythologies, political urgencies, and embodied histories. From spatially embedded projections and performative declarations to delicate object-based installations, each artist stages a multifaceted inquiry into memory, care, resistance, and identity. Visitors are invited to enter intimate zones of vulnerability and transformation, where childhood is recollected in textile and paint, sobriety chronicled in shifting media, and migrant subjectivities refracted through pop-cultural figures. Elsewhere, institutional systems are laid bare: care work rendered in economic metrics, protest voiced through spoken word and soundscape, and normative language reshaped with clay. Motifs of transparency and structural tension hint at a fractured corporeality, shaped by digital dissonance and the search for subjectivity within a distorted reality. The exhibition resists linear narrative in favor of a porous, open structure, echoing the unstable terrains its artists navigate. Here, the room becomes collaborator, projection surface, and stage. Practices of Presence unfolds less as an exhibition than as a living rehearsal of memory carried through bodies, presence shaped by fracture, and care practiced through subtle, persistent gestures.
